Implicit Trust in DNS Servers is BAD October 12, 2007

If a DNS server is exploited, any Web site you visit may be fake. This includes search engines, Web mail, banks, online stores, etc. By redirecting Web mail, a user’s email account can be stolen. By redirecting forums or message boards, a user’s password can be stolen. A smart attacker can make these completely invisible to the user.
